KWTX - Area Farmers Asked To Check Their Fields For Trace Of Missing Man
AQUILLA (April 28, 2010)—Hill County authorities contacted area farmers Wednesday and asked them to walk their fields to check for signs of an elderly man who’s been missing since he drove away from his home Saturday.

Richard Gary Parker, 76, has Type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure and family members says he desperately needs medication.

They say the pickup truck in which he drove off Saturday had a full tank of gas, but because he hadn’t driven in several years, they think it’s likely he and the truck are still in the immediate area.

Waco Tribune - Family frantically searching for missing Aquilla man
Family, friends and law enforcement officials are still looking for an elderly man with Alzheimer’s disease who drove away from his Aquilla home one week ago.

Richard Parker, 76, suffers from dementia and was having a spell Saturday night when he got in his silver, four-door 2004 Dodge pickup and drove away from his home on Farm-to-Market Road 933, heading south.

He may have turned down another road and gotten lost, said his son, Darrell Parker, who works for Johnson Roofing.

The company has put up a reward of $1,000 to anyone with information leading to the safe return of Richard Parker.

KXXV - Missing elderly Aquilla man's truck found
His gray 2006 Dodge pickup truck was reportedly found abandoned in Brown County at Mountainview Lodge at Lake Brownwood.

Authorities say the truck was left there sometime last week.

The owners of the lodge had impounded it on Friday, but the license plate wasn't checked by the wrecker company until Tuesday.

There was no sign of Mr. Parker. LE is contacting local medical facilities, shelters, and faith-based organizations to see if they have seen him.
